Søren Linding Urup (b. 1980) is a Danish dancer based between Copenhagen and Barcelona. After a bachelor's degree in rhetoric from the University of Copenhagen, he was educated at Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance in 2009 and he has since worked within the European dance field as a freelance artist. He has worked in large and small projects in many different formats from black box stages to itinerant street performances, recitation and small collaborations for gallery settings. In recent years he has mainly focused on performing for children and young people and exploring the nearness and responsiveness of that work. This has fed into a deeper understanding of being with oneself and an audience when working in all settings. With a background in ballroom dancing, musicality has always been a current through his work, but in the collaboration with Ivar creating and expressing sound has (re)emerged as mode of relating to agency, performativity and improvisational structures. As of June 2022 he holds an MFA in Dance and Participation from The Danish National School of Performing Arts.
